Hi Kevin Begley (and team?),
I managed to sneak down to the boat for two days, back home now, left the box in place. Now need to scratch head a bit with you to see where my dropouts are coming from on the Ip end of the wi-fi.
I have Macbook Pro 15" OSX Yosamite 10.10.2
I forgot to get the serial no of the DMK 11A box before I left,It says rev 5 firmware.
I have an iPad Model FD367B/A version 8.1.3.(12B466)Modem firmware is 5.3.00
I have an iPhone 4s model with same version as above.Modem firmware is 5.4.00
The manual says that the box is at d192.168.1.2 However the DMK app says that the box is
I can get AIS, converted seatalk output, and gps sentences appearing from time to time on the app. Also iNavx has provided target ships.
On both iPad and iPhone.
However, the iPad drops out frequently, and that is one device I would like to be super stable.
As regards the Macbook, some tips as to how to get IP data into openCPN would be appreciated?
I also have in the past purchased MacENC licence so maybe this program is also connectable?
Please let me know how to write new firmware to the DMK box if that is the issue?
Many thanks,

Paul Clandillon.

    Hello Paul,
Rev 5 Firmware is very old. You might be eligible for a board replacement. Please confirm that the firmware is revision 5 and if so please send me an email at [email blocked] with a shipping address where we send a replacement. is the first IP where the 11A will send data. is the IP address that the 11A takes. This address is important to know when sending data back to the DMK 11A. This does not happen often as most of the data comes from the boat.

I have little experience with OpenCPN. Please email me a screen shot of the data connection page and I can start to work on some ideas for how to make it work. Some programs require a installing a port converter to work but a start will be to find out what type of input it is looking for.

    Talk to you soon,
